They can be physical or emotional. As humans and leaders, we have the right and the will to accept and embrace our limits, and choose what is good for us and what is not. By setting boundaries, not only will we improve our quality of life, but also make our business work for us instead of you working for it.
What are some of the things we can do in order to set boundaries in business? We can use a calendar and plan out our week ahead of time. We can block time together so we are more efficient and batch our work together. We can close the door or put a sign up when we are working at home to avoid distractions. We can have contracts and agreements for all of the work we do and speak up when those agreements are violated. We can make sure we take breaks and have a set working schedule so that we do not overwork and get burnt out. We can say no to clients and work that does not align with us or serve us. Shut off notifications and apps when you are working. To say “no” is to prioritize both our well-being and the well-being of our business.
Our time is priceless and you can never get it back. It is important to be cautious about where we spend your time and energy.
